Resort-style living: a guard-gated golf community, plus shopping, dining and condos around Kierland.
Gainey Ranch is a guard-gated community built around golf, with a resort atmosphere next door at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale. It offers a mix of villas, townhomes and single-family homes in individual enclaves.
Kierland, a little to the northwest, is built around Kierland Commons and Scottsdale Quarter, two open-air shopping and dining districts, plus the Westin Kierland resort and golf. Part of the Kierland area sits inside Phoenix city limits even with a Scottsdale mailing address, so always confirm the city for a specific home.

Lock-and-leave villas and condos make this area popular with retirees and part-year residents. Ask whether golf or club membership is separate from the HOA.
